When I downloaded the new update, I lost all of my previous saved data. Is there anything I can do to get it back??

Hi,
just a quick note that now after v1.3 is approved, version 1.4 is on its way (should take the usual 4 to 5 days).
I hope this will fix all the old-save-game problems.

The new update would be greatly appreciated. Does this mean I should not save any new files on version 1.1, until the update is released?

Hi,
update is on its way.

Your saved games are still there but version 1.1 does not see them,
so saving to an "empty" slot might overwrite a previously saved game.

You can play using the autosave option which will save every time you change the level (entering or leaving a dungeon). Autosaving will not overwrite any other save game.

I'm very sorry for this bug.

Hi,
looks like I placed a nasty bug in version 1.1
your saved games are still there but the program will not recognize them because of the changed file format (minimap).

Should I post an immediate update?
Due to the certification process this will take about three days to arrive.

Personally I haven't saved anything to any slot with the new update (hoping that old saves could be recovered).
I vote for an update....but that's just my 2 cents.
Thanks for looking into it so fast, it's greatly appreciated.

I thought it was only me. Lost all saves. Otherwise the update is much appreciated, high-res and minimap are excellent.

Hi,
I'm not sure about this.
Usually, the update does not touch your personal data including data
saved by the application. Unless of course Microsoft assigned a new
app-ID to the new version of minicraft.

Good afternoon,

I installed the update last night and now I can see my old saves in the load screen, but when I select any of them (including quick save and auto save all dated 02/15/2012) the game crashes back to the Games Collection. If I select "Start Game", it starts with a brand new game. Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm very sorry to hear that there is still a problem with the old save games. I would release an update for this within the next hour if I could. Unfortunately Version 1.3 is still in review process (fixing the Acorn problem) and each update takes about five days for Microsoft to approve. The old save games will not work before version 1.4 is available - which should take at least another week.

The long update cycle is a common problem on Windows Phone and is already addressed by Microsoft here:

there is nothing I can do for now but wait for v1.3 to get approved and immediately publish v1.4

I just filed a support request to Microsoft, maybe they are able to speed things up a little bit.

1.4 fixed the saves for me....all my original saves are not only visible in the selection screen, but load up with no issue.

Thank you so much. I've been going through MC withdrawals and now all is well in the universe.

Experiencing the Same Issues

Hi Peter,

I'm experiencing the EXACT same issues that savage is. Just being patient and waiting for the 1.4 update. Was tempted to uninstall, but searched a bit and found this forum. I really appreciate the up-to-date information.

You may want to post something in the app description on the Marketplace or post a "developer's note" on the app's review page regarding the bug, because I noticed more people leaving low ratings because of saved game losses.
